Learn The Pipes

Are you prepared to work hard?  You’ll be at least a year on the practice chanter learning the fingering before even thinking about playing the bagpipe!  There is NO short cut to learning to play the ‘Noble Instrument’…

Are you at primary school in or near Moredun in Edinburgh?  If so, contact us about our ‘Introductory sessions’ and lessons.  For a small deposit, we can even lend you a practice chanter to get you started.

If you are between 12 and 18 years old check out the cadets.  The ACF Pipes & Drums detachments will supply the practice chanters (or sticks and pads for drummers) and later, as and when required: pipes, drums and uniform as well as properly qualified tutors to help children go as far as they want to go with piping (or drumming).

All their pipers and drummers are encouraged to register and attain piping and drumming qualifications through the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

If you are an adult, or not catered for above, please contact us with your ambitions, location and your current experience in piping and we’ll certainly try and point you in the right direction!
